Awakening Guide
How to unlock Quirk Awakenings in ITAMI. The Inner Self mechanic, Void of your Mind boss fight, questline stages, and tips for every Quirk.
What Are Awakenings?
Awakenings are the hardest milestone in ITAMI — a powered-up transformation unlocked through a multi-stage questline unique to each Quirk. Developer FreshThingInnit confirmed: "Awakening will be extremely hard to obtain as it has multiple questlines and stages — don't even worry about getting it quickly."
Awakenings are confirmed for all major Quirks: Hell Flame, Explosion, One For All, Incinerate, and Half Hot Half Cold. Explosion Awakening was officially sneak-peeked by the dev team in October 2025 and received the most hype reactions of any sneak peak ever posted.
The Inner Self — How Every Awakening Works

Every Quirk Awakening in ITAMI follows the same core mechanic — the Inner Self fight in the Void of your Mind. This was officially revealed by the developer on November 7, 2025.
Developer Quote — FreshThingInnit (Nov 7, 2025)
How the Inner Self fight works:
- Complete multiple Awakening questlines specific to your Quirk
- Unlock the final stage — you are transported to the Void of your Mind
- Face your Inner Self: an AI opponent that has studied your playstyle from every fight
- The AI copies your tendencies — aggressive players face aggressive AIs, passive players face passive AIs
- Defeat your Inner Self to unlock Awakening
- Awakened moves can destroy buildings — confirmed by the developer
This Is Extremely Difficult
Hell Flame — Temperature Bar Trigger
Hell Flame uses a Temperature Bar to track your Awakening progress in combat. Fill the bar by landing fire abilities and M1 combos — once it charges fully, the Awakening questline activates and you enter the Void of your Mind.
How to charge the Temperature Bar:
- Land Quirk abilities (Z, X, C, V) — each hit adds significant heat
- Land M1 combos — smaller heat contribution
- Stay aggressive — the bar decays slowly if you stop attacking
Awakened Hell Flame perks:
- All fire abilities enhanced with more damage and wider AoE
- Destructible buildings on awakening-tier skills
- Intense visual transformation referencing Endeavor's peak form
One For All — Deku Path vs All Might Path
One For All is unique — it has two separate Mythic versions: the Deku path (progressive Full Cowling percentages) and the All Might path (raw overwhelming power). Both paths require defeating their own Inner Self in the Void.
- Deku path: Full Cowling % system — channeling increasing percentages of OFA. 100% may cause self-damage (canon reference)
- All Might path: Pure overwhelming physical power — raw Smash attacks at peak strength
- OFA has 6 confirmed skills total (most of any Quirk)
- Awakening unlocks additional moves and changes all existing ones

Explosion & HHHC Awakenings
Explosion Awakening was officially sneak-peeked by the dev team (October 27, 2025) and received 68 fire-heart reactions — the most hyped sneak in ITAMI history. It shows a screen-filling explosion sequence. Half Hot Half Cold Awakening was shown in the February 15, 2026 showcase — described by the developer as "mythical" and the flashiest in the game.
Incinerate and Electric Shock also have confirmed Awakenings. All follow the same Inner Self fight mechanic. Full details available after April 2026 launch.
