Hero vs Villain — Legacy System
Players choose between Hero and Villain paths in ITAMI's Legacy system, unlocking unique story quests, perks, and gameplay features depending on their chosen side. Inspired by My Hero Academia's iconic hero-villain dynamic, this system is a defining feature of ITAMI's RPG progression. Full details including all perks, exclusive quests, and path-specific rewards will be documented when the game launches in April 2026.

Confirmed by Roblox API
The game's badge system confirms both paths exist: there are separate “Official Hero” and “Official Villain” badges, earned by completing Hero Exams and Villain Exams respectively. This confirms that the Legacy system involves examination/qualification quests for each path.
What We Know
Hero Path
Follow the path of justice and protect civilians. Heroes are expected to gain access to hero-exclusive quests, ranking systems, and unique perks that reward cooperative and defensive playstyles.
Villain Path
Embrace the dark side and cause chaos. Villains are expected to unlock villain- exclusive missions, notoriety systems, and perks that reward aggressive and disruptive playstyles.
What Happens After You Choose?
Based on developer screenshots from November 2025, after choosing your path you unlock path-specific quests and can interact with NPCs on your side. Hero players receive missions protecting civilians and fighting villain NPCs. Villain players sabotage Hero operations and earn notoriety. Both paths share the same map, jobs, and Quirk rolling system — the difference is in quest content and certain exclusive perks. Full details available at launch in April 2026.
Legacy FAQ
Can you switch between Hero and Villain?
It is not yet confirmed whether players can switch paths after choosing. In similar games, legacy choices are either permanent or require a costly reset. We will update this page with confirmed mechanics at launch.
Does your legacy affect Quirks or combat?
Your legacy path is expected to influence quest availability, NPC interactions, and possibly certain perks or buffs. Whether it directly affects Quirk abilities or combat mechanics will be confirmed when ITAMI releases.
When does the Legacy system unlock?
Based on similar MHA Roblox games, the Legacy choice becomes available after completing an introductory quest or reaching a certain level. Exact requirements will be confirmed when ITAMI launches. Check our Beginner's Guide for first-steps advice.
Are Hero and Villain equally viable?
Both paths are expected to be balanced in terms of gameplay. The choice is primarily about storyline and quest flavour rather than combat power. Your Quirk, build, and skill will matter far more than your legacy path in PvP. Both paths can use all Quirks and fight in the Underground Rings.
